Your Attitude Will Direct Your Actions
Nov 12, 2025
Oh, come on thad, please don’t bore us with another sermon about how thinking positive will just make everything hunky dory for us, as we move into the era of AI.
Nope, my plan is to bore you senseless by having you interview yourself about what’s next. Let’s call you Bono. Bono Q will be asking most of the questions while Bono A gives the answers.
Bono Q. – We watched the Tony Robbins Special on AI last week so we both know it’s just a matter of time before we are going to need to be using AI too. Don’t you agree?
Bono A. – I spoke with our cabinet manufacturer the other day and they said they haven’t started doing anything yet with AI. They will at some point, but it will be at least a year from now before they see any traction on it. I think the hype is being oversold by those big Tech companies who are trying to scare us into using their products before they are even ready.
Bono Q. – Interesting… so you know it’s coming but you want to hang tight right now, until you get the green light from other Dealers. Got it. Does it concern you to wait and then fall behind your competition?
Bono A. – Those first ones will be spending all their time figuring out how to use it through the trial-and-error process and once it’s worked out, we hop right in with little risk. How many of these new things have we already been through? Electricity, design software, internet, etc. This is just another thing that we will bring on when the time is right. We have seen it all so no more worrying…. It’s giving us a headache!
Bono Q. – Ok already... Last two quick questions. Are you glad that AI will be part of the K & B Industry (we just got ChatGPT last week) and if the answer is “no” then why?
Bono A. – No, I am not happy about AI coming to our industry, because I think it will cheapen what we do.
Bono Q. – Are you referring to the long selection, design, and quoting process for clients or the numerous recurring issues that happen on most projects and dampen the customer’s experience? On a serious note- what impact do you think AI will have on our business?
Bono A. – I am not sure but the feeling I am getting is that it’s not going to be good and might very well push us out of business.
Bono Q. – And down that path we shall go. I have no more questions.
I am absolutely amazed how many companies in our industry are not even using AI much less providing ChatGPT for everybody on the team. 25 bucks a month per person? Really?… Yea… it’s not like they will be using AI in the future.
I heard someone say, “you won’t lose your job to AI, you will lose it to someone who knows how to use AI.” Wouldn’t that also translate into what happens to businesses that don’t embrace AI?
I recently listened to Simon Sinek talk about how our mind & attitude will drive our behaviors. If you were excited about AI in your business, you would have already acted on it to learn more, listen to podcasts, read articles, watch seminars, etc. How much of that are you doing? One way or another you are molding your destiny now.
Not tomorrow. Hope to see you at our AI workshop on Dec. 2nd & 4th. Even if you are not going to use AI, you mise well learn a little bit about what you will be competing with.
It’s time to get hungry!
